EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE

HELPING OUR GUESTS ACHIEVE SELF-SUFFICIENCY

At Broadway Community, we believe that access to technology and meaningful employment are essential steps on the path from crisis to stability. That’s why our Employment and Digital Navigation Program is centered around our on-site computer lab, a vital resource open to all Guests during our soup kitchen hours every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:00am to 2:00pm.

Our lab is equipped with 12 computers, providing free internet access to anyone who walks through our doors. Here, Guests can search and apply for jobs, build resumes, create email accounts, and access public benefits—all in a welcoming, supportive environment. Our dedicated Workforce Development Coordinator, Felix Idehen, is available for one-on-one appointments, helping Guests craft professional resumes, prepare cover letters, and navigate the often complicated landscape of online job applications.

Each Friday, Felix also leads our weekly computer literacy class, designed to help individuals—many of whom are over the age of 50—gain confidence using computers, smartphones, and the internet. Whether it’s applying for a job, reconnecting with family, or accessing vital services, we meet our Guests where they are and empower them to take their next steps toward stability and self-sufficiency.
