SUPPORTIVE COUNSELING AND SPIRITUAL CARE

Giving a safe space to all

We are dedicated to meeting the holistic physical, mental, and spiritual needs of our Guests during their journey through homelessness. We employ a Board-Certified Chaplain, Bryan Mealer, who serves as our Director of Social and Spiritual Support. Bryan is available to speak with our Guests through a language of their faith and spirituality, to help make sense of their life experiences. We figured that other large institutions like the military, hospitals, the police, and the fire department have Chaplains, and decided that the homeless service system should be no different.

Meanwhile, with more than three decades of homeless service experience, John Sheehan, LMSW, joins us to provide twice-a-week on-site supportive counseling for our Guests that simply need someone to talk to. Meeting one-on-one in a private setting, John helps Guests feel deeply understood and supported, and find ways to resolve issues they might be having.
