For over 40 years, Broadway Community has lovingly prepared warm, healthy, and gourmet multicourse meals for all who hunger—whether in mind, body, or spirit. During the best of times and the worst of times, our soup kitchen has been a live-giving island of stability for thousands of New Yorkers in need.

Abundance is at the center of our soup kitchen's philosophy. We don't just serve calories -- we serve compassion, deliciousness, and dignity. Each meal is carefully prepared by a professional Chef and is completely free. At our soup kitchen, you can always count on being treated like royalty.

We listen to the Guests of our soup kitchen. As our longtime Chef and Food Services Director Michael Ennes said: “They’re still customers, whether they’re paying $100 a plate or nothing.”

MADE POSSIBLE BY

City Harvest is the food rescue that provides the majority of the produce for Broadway Community’s soup kitchen, shelter, and produce food pantry. Multiple times a week they provide a pallet of food items to be distributed to our guests.

Every Friday Community Impact at Columbia University helps prepare a meal to feed to our guests. They arrive on a Thursday morning, earlier than even our most dedicated volunteers, to prepare. Those who have tasted their cuisine have nothing but praise for their skill and dedication.

The Food Bank for New York City is a food bank that has been a decade long supporter of Broadway Community and its mission. This food bank has seen Broadway at its lowest and carried us through several shortages and emergencies — all so that we could continue to serve.

For the past six years Columbia Community Service has been awarding Broadway Community grant after grant to promote and usher forth new and old initiatives. Among other deeds, this organization has allowed us to meet the ever-growing demand for our soup kitchen.
