At BCI, we are proud of our volunteers. Without them our organization would not be able to offer our participants specialized and caring service. BCI is great place for those who wish to give back to the community. It is a place where not only should the participants feel at home, but also the volunteers. Categories of weekly volunteers needs:
Soup Kitchen volunteer times are Monday and Wednesday from 10am to 2pm.
Soup Kitchen volunteer duties include meal preparation, service and clean up. Volunteers can stay for the complete shift or pick an individual task like clean up.
Shelter volunteer times are seven nights a week, 365 days a year from 8:30pm to 7am.
Shelter volunteer duties include greeting the guests and assisting them with their linens and dinner and breakfast preparations.
Clothing volunteer times are Tuesday and Thursday from 10am to 12pm and from 2pm to 4pm. Clothing volunteer duties include accepting and sorting donated clothes for the Clothing, Shelter, and Shower programs.
Childcare volunteer times are Wednesdays from 2pm to 5pm.
Childcare duties include the supervision of one to five children ranging in ages from infants to 12 years. All childcare volunteers are subject to background checks and may work only with approved references.
All other volunteer needs are individual and on-going projects that may include: inventory, cleaning, filing and specialized jobs of graphics for posters and flyers, carpentry, computer technology and painting.
